336 New members inducted on a single day. World record. Rtn. G Manikantan Nair, Chairman Membership. At a grand Zoom function held on 1st August 2020, 79 clubs inducted as many as 336 new members into Rotary, a world records of sorts. The mastefully organised VIP (Virtual Induction Programme) dubbed "TAKE Off", scaling new heights in membership grouth. A disciplined, hard-working and compassionate human being, Rtn. Dr. G Sumithran has been an active member of Rotary for over a decade now. During his time at Rotary International, apart from his steadfast focus on his work as one of Kerala’s finest cardio-thoracic surgeon, he has also exhibited incredible leadership skills, having won the best Assistant Governor for the Rotary year 2016- 2017.
A legacy deep-rooted in helping people improve their physical well-being: Born the youngest child of Thekkemadom Ayurveda Acharya Sri. M. K. Gangadharan and Smt. Chandramathi in 1964. Dr. Sumithran’s family has been engaged in the practice of Ayurveda for decades.
He had his schooling at Govt. U.P. School Oachira and RVSM Higher Secondary School, Prayar before undertaking his pre-degree course at MSM College Kayamkulam.
R. Gordon R. McInally is president-elect of Rotary International. He was educated at the Royal High School in Edinburgh and at the University of Dundee, where he earned his graduate degree in dental surgery. He operated his own dental practice in Edinburgh until 2016. Gordon was chair of the East of Scotland branch of the British Paedodontic Society and has held various academic positions. He has also served as a presbytery elder, chair of the Queensferry parish congregational board, and commissioner to the general assembly of the Church of Scotland.
Gordon joined Rotary in 1984 at age 26. A member of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry, he has served as president and vice president of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI). He has also served RI as a director and on several committees, including as an adviser to the 2022 Houston Convention Committee and chair of the Operations Review Committee.
Gordon says he looks forward to working with members to build new Rotary clubs and groups. “My vision is that Rotary should exist everywhere in a style to suit everyone who has the desire to be part of us and to help us do good in the world,” he says.

At least 7 million children under the age of five die each year due to malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation.
